Welcome to EtonHouse
EtonHouse International School – Phnom Penh opened its doors in 2013 to new & exciting learning experiences for children. Situated in the heart of Beoung Keng Kang, the school will sit on 1,050sqm of land and offer over 3,000sqm of thoughtfully prepared learning environments, designed to stimulate the learning & development of children.
Pre-School Curriculum
EtonHouse values the uniqueness of each child as both a gift & an opportunity. This uniqueness is supported & enhanced by a learning environment that is respectful of the child as he/she seeks to make meaning of the socio-cultural context in which he/she lives.
Inquire-Think-Learn
The EtonHouse Inquire-Think-Learn curriculum approach, inspired by the Reggio Emilia Project of Northern Italy is founded on the following seven principles which guide everyday teaching and learning:
- an image of the child as competent. Children are respected as strong & competent learners, curious & interested in their world
Inquire-Think-Learn (Con.)
- an acknowledgement of children as sophisticated thinkers and communicators
- afocus on seeing children as participants within a socio-cultural context inwhich knowledge is constructed through reciprocal and responsive interactions with others
- an understanding that play and conversation are the central modes of learning for young children
Inquire-Think-Learn (Con.)
- a recognition that the curriculum has research-based intellectual and pedagogical integrity
- the establishment of a reciprocal partnership with parents, recognizing them as the child’s first educator
- a demonstration as educators of accountability for children’s learning through reflective pedagogical documentation.
International School Curriculum
Stimulating & challenging learning programmes
The International School curriculum follows the inquiry learning philosophy of the International Baccalaureate. The Literacy and Numeracy strategies from the United Kingdom curriculum are also used as a learning framework.
